First entry: A little about myself.

So I decided to finally start my blog (even though i've had this profile for months, perhaps years). This is to catalog the different aspects of my life.

I'm a licensed category 3 road racer (on bicycles) and aspiring pro. Trying to balance the life of a college student (late nights, beer, etc...) with the life of a endurance bike racer is very complicated. The two lifestyles do not coincide very well. To be competitive on the bike, it is required to dedicate many hours on the bike alone(about 15 to 20 hours, or 250 to 35o miles a week), not to mention all the other aspects of fitness (steady sleeping schedule, healthy diet, gym workouts, etc) and the money one puts into this sport is another thing that doesn't coincide with a college student's budget (it's been said that being a coke addict is less expensive than being a bike racer). Sometimes it comes down to either eating or buying a new gear.

As one can imagine, my social life suffers the most. Most of my friends don't understand why I can't go out every friday and get schwasty and stay out till dawn. Although, this does happen from time to time, that is the part of the balancing act that is my life.
